Day 2 in Guangzhou:) Ben's Medical Check:)

Hi Everyone:)
This morning we were running a little late so we had to hurry and get downstairs to grab a quick breakfast, and then meet our guide Elvin in the Hotel lobby. We had an early appointment and were the first families to arrive for the Medical Checkup:)
( When we arrived in Chengdu, there was another family there also adopting with Bay Area Adoption Services. Our two families have the same guide and so we have all done any tours and appointments together:):):)
Paul, Marilyn and little Ethan ( 2 1/2 ) are from California and it has been a pleasure getting to know them.... Ethan is their first child and is such a Cutie-Pie:):):) He likes our girls and Benjamin a lot and grins from ear to ear whenever he first sees all of us every morning:)
We are happy to say that everything went well at the Medical Checkup this morning and it looks as though Ben is a very healthy little boy:)
We will still take him to the doctor and have a more thorough checkup when we get home... But for now, other than a little runny nose, he is doing really well:):):) Thank You Jesus:):):)
As we were leaving the Medical Appointment, several other families were coming to their appointments.... One family that we met at the airport in Chicago is adopting a precious little girl and they have named her Alexis....we ran into them at the Medical Check and their new, sweet baby girl is really sick....would you all please pray for little Alexis? I just know that her parents would really appreciate your prayers:)
Also, a couple of days ago I got a message from Patrick and Hetty ( Naomi's Foster Parents in Guiyang, China ) that one of their little baby girls that they are fostering is very sick and has been admitted to the hospital:( Her name is JOY :)
Thank You for taking the time to lift up Baby Joy and Baby Alexis.... I just know that God will hear our prayers for them:):):) Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!!!!
After the Medical Exams we headed back to our Hotel for a little bonding in the Hotel room time:)
Actually, Mark had a paperwork meeting downstairs with Elvin so the kids and I just stayed in the hotel playing with Playdough and gathering up our laundry so that we could have it sent out to be done:)
At one point while Mark was gone, I asked the girls if I could take a 30 minute rest and could they do something quiet with Ben?
I was SO THANKFUL to have just a few minutes to lay my head down on the pillow.... and for the first few minutes there was no noise coming from their adjoining room.....Ahhhhh, Peaceful Bliss Right?
Nope!!!
Then the giggling started and then quiet again, then more giggling, then more giggling, and then outrageous laughter and wooshing sounds....Abbie, Becca and Ben were having a pillow fight!!!! :)
Ben was laughing so hard and I'm sure they were all probably jumping on the beds too!!!!! :)
Needless to say I didn't get to rest and didn't have the heart to get mad at them for not being quiet because they were having so much fun and bonding with their new little brother:):):)
Have I said that I am thankful for Abbie and Becca's playful hearts....
They can both be SO MUCH FUN and have been such BLESSINGS on this trip:):):)
When Mark came back from the paperwork meeting, we all got ready and met our guide downstairs to head out to a local Wal-mart to get a few things that we needed.... ( Ok and some Chocolate too! )
The Wal-mart is in a nice area underground:):):)
It is attached to a really nice Shopping Mall and has a large area outside around the Mall:)
There was even a place outside the mall where little kids could rollerblade:)
Abbie loves to rollerblade so we were having fun just watching the little kids Go on their rollerblades:):):)
It was amazing to me that these little kids like 3-5 yrs old could rollerblade.... Let alone be really good at it!!!
We really enjoyed watching them for a bit:):):)
There was a Pizza Hut attached to the Walmart and the mall :) We voted to have dinner there and then look around the area for a little awhile afterward:):):)
We met a sweet Chinese family while having dinner at Pizza Hut:)
The mom spoke a little English, and she and her husband have one little boy ( Will, 5 yrs. Old :)
Will was Adorable and really reminded me of Samuel.... He takes English classes so he was talking to us too :):):)
This sweet young family was so nice to us :):):)
They were pretty shocked when we told them  that we have 8 children, and 3 grandchildren!!! They wanted to see pictures and so of course we showed them pictures:):):)
We then finished up with dinner, said our goodbye's, looked around the area a little more... And then caught a taxi back to our Hotel:)
Ben is doing well and being a trooper for most things:)
I think he likes us because he is starting to talk to us more and more.... Oh how I wish that we could understand what he is saying!!!!!
Thanks for praying everyone.... We Love you all and are so Thankful that you are all on this journey with us:):):)
Hugs
