Samuel did very well spending his first night with us :) He slept for about 11 hours without a peep out of him:) He was happy when he woke up and ready to eat and play :) I was a little nervous about him waking up and not knowing where he was, but he seemed to do just fine:) We are so very thankful for this precious little Treasure from God:):):) Thank You all again from the bottom of our hearts for praying for us and for him... It means so much... Especially now!!!
We were kind of excited to take Samuel to breakfast because he is so so tiny and we are hoping to get some meat on his bones! He did not disappoint us as he ate really well :) Thankfully, he is not picky about what he eats and seems to like whatever we offer him. This morning the fruit and eggs were a big hit!
After breakfast, we all ( all of the adoptive families that are here) headed back to the Civil Affairs office to make everything official... We were there for quite a while and Samuel had fun playing with Abbie and all of the other children:) Samuel likes his big sister alot :):):) She has been so good with him, and truly has the gift of getting him to laugh and distracting him when he is doing something that he is not supposed to be doing!!!
Because of the heat here right now, when we got back to our hotel room we were all exhausted and thought an afternoon nap sounded like a great idea:) Samuel slept almost 3 hours and so did we!!!
Later, since everyone was well rested we ventured out to a grocery store and bought a few snacks :) We borrowed a stroller from the Hotel and Samuel did great in it:) ( not sure if he has ever been in one before) Our guide recommended a local Chinese restaurant so we decided to go there... Only one problem... No one working there spoke English! Thankfully, God watches out for us:):):) A sweet young Chinese girl ( Serena, age 20 ) was eating noodles and I asked to see what she ordered... Well Yay, she spoke English, came and sat with us and ordered for us!!! Thank You Lord!!! :) The food was really good and again, Samuel ate alot!!!
We walked around a little after dinner, came back to the Hotel and then took Abbie and Samuel swimming:) At first Samuel was extremely afraid, but by the time we left the pool he was more relaxed and had a big smile on his face:) Mark has always been good at getting our kids to like the water, and helping them to become good swimmers.... Samuel's not quite there yet, but at least he made a few strides forward tonight:) He had so much fun splashing Mark and Abbie and chasing after the beach ball.... As his new mommy it was just so fantastic to see him laughing out loud and having fun with his new daddy and his new big sister!!! I now have his cute little laugh recorded on video :)
We are beginning to see more and more of Samuel's true personality coming out:):):) Now, remember, we do not understand Chinese and he does not understand English!!!! Yikes!!! This could be Interesting!!!!! Will share more about that tomorrow:):):):) Please keep praying!!!
Love and Big Hugs to all :)
